Raising the Briefcase No. 19 – The Rhodes Not Taken

cody-rhodes-2105515

Why do we always lose the ones that we love? After a bit of an accidental hiatus, the Kings of Cast return to discuss whatever is on their minds in the wild world of professional wrestling. We talk the releases of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, the emergence of AJ Styles as a breakout star in WWE, the women’s division, and assorted other bits of nonsense.

Also, this episode is our shortest yet, for those that would like to listen to one of our podcasts in less time than it takes to read Ulysses.

Raising the Briefcase No. 15 – (Hardly Any) Teams of Five Strive to Survive!

Reigns and Ambrose

While we may be celebrating 25 years of the Undertaker, it certainly doesn’t feel that way. The Deadman feels like a bit of an afterthought this year, while the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament has taken center stage.  As it comes to a head tonight, the Kings of Cast discuss the injury of Seth Rollins, predict the winner of Survivor Series (it’s Roman Reigns, silly!), wonder about the future of Tyler Breeze, and make a failed reference to Schrodinger’s Cat. Enjoy and tell your friends!

Raising the Briefcase No. 12 – The Passing of Giants

Rowdy Roddy Piper 4The Kings of Cast are back to discuss their memories of Dusty Rhodes and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, as well as perhaps the final fall of Hulk Hogan. They also take the time to discuss the rise of Cesaro, the awesomeness of The New Day, the Divas Revolution, and a whole lot more in one of their epic 2 1/2 Hour Podcast Spectaculars! Listen in, Briefcase Nation!

Raising the Briefcase No. 11 – OWENSWINSLOL

After several months MIA, the Kings of Cast (well, two of them) return to discuss the incredible changes that have taken place since Summerslam. Kevin Owens cleanly defeats the face of the company? The New Day is must-watch television? Damien Sandow is being horrifically wasted again? What is this world?! Plus, Dean Ambrose, potential Money in the Bank winners, madness on Lucha Underground and the potential demise of TNA. It’s quite a show, and we do it out of love. Or out of Matt’s kitchen.

Raising the Briefcase No. 10 – Briefcase of the Immortals

seth rollinsAfter what turned out to be quite a Wrestlemania, Ivan, Dave, and Matt sat down and talked for an exhaustive amount of time about the show and the implications thereof.  The best part of the podcast is how Ivan starts out by saying that this won’t be a typical long podcast, and it turns out to be super, super long.  Still, there’s a lot of entertainment here, and if you’re looking for funny and insightful wrestling discussion, you’ve come to the right place.

Raising the Briefcase No. 8 – The Agony and the Ecstasy

Roman wins...LOL?
Roman wins…LOL?

First off, apologies for the audio issues, as well as for the moments where Dave is hard to hear.  This was recorded en route to the Royal Rumble and on the return trip, as we attend the show live and chat about the show itself, the backlash facing one Roman Reigns, Lucha Underground, and the awesomeness that is Seth Rollins.

Raising the Briefcase No. 7 – We Went to An Indy Show!

Matt has a new Hero, and he is of the Chris variety.
Matt has a new Hero, and he is of the Chris variety.

Recorded just before CM Punk dropped wisdom on us via Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling (another delightful podcast), Ivan, Matt, and Dave checked out Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s anniversary show where they saw some kick-ass independent wrestling.  They also discuss the rise of Dolph Ziggler and Stiiiiiiiing.

Raising the Briefcase No. 6 – Coming Off the Mountain

Roman Reigns’s injury is Dean Ambrose’s gain, Dolph Ziggler attempts to ascend the babyface ladder, Brock Lesnar is still on muscular viking sabbatical, and WWE apparently only has five main guys capable of being in the main event.  Join the Kings of Cast for more in-depth discussion of our beloved fake sport.

Raising the Briefcase No. 4 – Meet the New Champ, Same as the Old Champ

Cena shrugs in victory!
“What, me change or evolve?”

John Cena is champion again, shocking no one…but Chris Jericho is back!  But Daniel Bryan is still horribly injured…but AJ Lee is back!  Bad News Barrett got some bad news…but the Miz is back!  Can the returns of beloved (or in the Miz’s case, beloved only by Matt) superstars make up for the disappointments all around us?  Tune in to find out.

Recorded on July 5, 2014.

Raising the Briefcase No. 3 – Releases and the Hounds

JTG
Never forget.

Wow, this episode ended up being pretty long.  Still, there’s not much downtime in this shockingly full show.  The guys discuss the eleven released WWE employees (NOT JTG!), Stardust, the break-up of The Shield, potential Money in the Bank winners, and debuting Matt’s new favorite segment, The Rusev Report!
