Raising the Briefcase No. 24 – Let Loose the Games of War

While this episode will be too late for NXT Takeover War Games, the Kings of Cast take the opportunity to discuss the match as concept and whether older wrestling is any good (Matt says no, which is why we don’t like him).¬† We also perform a post-mortem of the first-ever Jinder Mahal title reign and break down what, if anything, worked. Additionally, praise is given to Johnny Gargano and Andrade Almas, Shane McMahon is shown to be the villain he is, and we spend a little time figuring out which teams of five will strive to survive.

Note: Due to some technical issues, this episode contains no musical intro or outro. Furthermore, Ivan’s mic apparently cut out

Enjoy!

Raising the Briefcase No. 23 – Indian Summer

Holy heck, a new podcast! And it’s only been four months.

In this intrepid installment, the Kings of Cast discuss the unlikely ascension of Jinder Mahal, Smackdown’s diminishing of great stars, and the importance of characters worth watching in wrestling. Finally, we run through the cards for NXT: Takeover Brooklyn III and Summerslam, both taking place in our very backyard of New York City!

Raising the Briefcase No. 21 – The Year That Was and the Year That Is

It’s January, so you know what that means! The Royal Rumble is upon us, and even though we’ve been crushingly disappointed the last few years, that doesn’t mean that we’ll feel the same way this year, right? Right? Someone please tell us that it will all be okay.

Anyway, the guys talk a bit about the best and worst of 2016, the WWE UK Championship Tournament, and what in the wide wide world of sports is going to happen in the most unpredictable rumble in ages.

Raising the Briefcase No. 20 – Brand Split Personalities

the-miz-and-maryse-28934343-620x400First of all, apologies for the long delay between podcasts.

Second of all, sorry for the technical issues. You may notice a rapid beeping during certain parts of the show, and while we tried to eliminate them, it was to no avail. We hope to have them sorted out by the next time we come to you.

Anyway, we talk about TNA for way longer than we ever have, break down the brand split, make some No Mercy predictions that will be old by the time you listen to this, talk lovingly about The Miz and the glory of Smackdown, and listen to Dave tell us a horrible story about a sandwich.

Come and be entertained as we discuss the many, many, many belts of WWE.

Raising the Briefcase No. 19 – The Rhodes Not Taken

Why do we always lose the ones that we love? After a bit of an accidental hiatus, the Kings of Cast return to discuss whatever is on their minds in the wild world of professional wrestling. We talk the releases of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, the emergence of AJ Styles as a breakout star in WWE, the women’s division, and assorted other bits of nonsense.

Also, this episode is our shortest yet, for those that would like to listen to one of our podcasts in less time than it takes to read Ulysses.

Raising the Briefcase No. 16 – Do Not Panic

Cena Shoulder surgery

Everything’s just fine. Sure, John Cena is injured. Randy Orton is injured. Seth Rollins is injured. And yes, Cesaro, Sting, Tyson Kidd, and others are hurt, and maybe Daniel Bryan will never wrestle for WWE again, but everything’s fine! What else do you need when you have Roman Reigns and his buddy Dean Ambrose to cheer for?

The Kings of Cast also discuss the rumored signing of a bunch of New Japan’s finest, two different views on Bayley vs. Nia Jax, who will win the Royal Rumble, and what racist gimmick Shinsuke Nakamura will receive.

Raising the Briefcase No. 7 – We Went to An Indy Show!

Matt has a new Hero, and he is of the Chris variety.
Matt has a new Hero, and he is of the Chris variety.

Recorded just before CM Punk dropped wisdom on us via Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling (another delightful podcast), Ivan, Matt, and Dave checked out Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s anniversary show where they saw some kick-ass independent wrestling. ¬†They also discuss the rise of Dolph Ziggler and Stiiiiiiiing.
